SSE India is committed to nurturing the ideas of individuals who aspire to create a social enterprise or embark on a social impact project in India.

Our mission is to provide the necessary support, mentorship, and resources to help these change-makers turn their ideas into reality.

SSE India provides a wide range of learning and development opportunities ranging from 1 day workshops to 12 month programmes. Here’s a few examples of what we do

SOCIAL START-UP FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME

Start-up support for people looking to get a new idea off the ground, develop and sustain with study sessions, action learning, mentoring. 100+ fellows have graduated from this programme.

FOSTERING LOCAL GRASSROOT ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Workshops to strengthen local SHG groups registered under multiple state specific schemes of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY – NRLM) . Rajasthan based Local Entrepreneurs Programme (women)

THE INCLUSIVE ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME

A pre-incubation 3-month programme for promoting LGBTI livelihoods and mitigating gender based violence & discrimination. Focuses on building entrepreneurial skills for the budding entrepreneurs via learning by doing methodology of SSE India. The elements of the programme include practical learning, mentoring and action learning – which together enable them to examine their idea, develop a business model, integrate their personal values, and refine social impact.

BUILDING INSTITUTIONAL CAPACITY

Supporting organisations in developing a strong and robust social impact strategy within their existing structure; working with their employees/intrapreneurs to take greater ownership and connect with the organisation’s vision

LOCALISING SDGS, TAKING ACTIONS TO IMPACT

Work with Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) to mainstream SDGs through the planning process at the local level. Equipping PRIs to align with SDGs and be effective vehicles of social change and rural development is the vision of this intervention. An action learning approach to build capacities of PRIs for inclusive planning and achieve the vision of ‘Leave No One Behind’ is at the core of this intervention.

LIGHTHOUSE PROJECTS

Harnessing Entrepreneurship & Skills potential and aligning it with youth & women power, socially excluded groups, private sector and SHGs. Explore entrepreneurial opportunities for better service delivery and job creation. Active participation of the Gram Panchayats, Block Panchayats, Zila Panchayats and mobilizing their leadership & ownership would enable creating transformative outcomes. Create lighthouse projects that can guide ‘how development should happen’.

ACCESS TO THE GLOBAL NETWORK OF CHANGEMAKERS

SSE Global community offers a gateway to the most innovative social enterprises across the globe. Country chapters under SSE Global – UK, India, Canada, Scotland, etc Gives a platform to explore avenues of learning, opportunities and collaboration.

THE WORLD IS MY CLASSROOM: GLOBAL EXCHANGE LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS

Encourage cross-cultural experiential exchanges we host social changemakers from different parts of the world to experience our fellows’ work in India through a designed intervention tailored to their needs & interests

THEMATIC APPROACH TO LEADERSHIP AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP

The thematic approach is an amalgamation of sectoral expertise with our globally acclaimed entrepreneurship development pedagogy. We have worked with cohorts specific to the development themes of leveraging technological advancement to create social impact, localising SDGs at the grassroots and initiatives supporting local to global climate action.
